XTEN-AV Improves AV Submittals with BOM-Linked Spec Sheets

Enhanced X-DRAW submittals help AV project teams generate, customize, and update product specification packages without rebuilding documents after every BOM revision.

LAS VEGAS, USA – June 10, 2026:  XTEN-AV has introduced improvements to its Submittals and Spec Sheets functionality in X-DRAW, helping AV design and project managers prepare product documentation packages more efficiently as designs move from review to approval.

For project engineers, AV consultants, and procurement teams, submittal preparation can become a time-consuming part of project delivery. Product specification sheets must be collected, checked against the latest bill of materials, organized into a clear package and shared with clients, consultants, general contractors or other project stakeholders. When products change, the documentation often needs to be reviewed and prepared again.

The improved X-DRAW submittals feature keeps the specification package connected to the project BOM. Teams can generate the package from the X-DRAW View Docs page, customize it in the x.doc Proposal Editor, and use the Resync Submittals option when products are added, changed or removed from the BOM.
Instead of manually recreating the full package after each revision, users can update the document while keeping the latest product list and specification sheets aligned.

Key capabilities include:

  1. Direct submittal downloads from X-DRAW: Users can download an Original PDF or Compressed PDF directly from the View Docs page.
  2. Editable packages in X-DOC: Teams can add text, images, PDFs, shapes, drawings, and pricing tables to prepare a package that matches the project requirements.
  3. BOM-linked resyncing: The Resync Submittals option refreshes the package after BOM products are added, updated, or removed.
  4. Clear missing-document visibility: Products without available specification sheets appear in an Unavailable Products section, helping teams identify gaps before the package is shared.
  5. Flexible page-level controls: Users can duplicate pages, add new pages, remove pages, and organize the package for client or project-specific needs.
  6. Spec-sheet management: Missing product sheets can be uploaded, and existing sheets can be replaced when updated manufacturer documentation is required.
“Submittals should not become a separate manual project every time a BOM changes,” said Sahil Dhingra, Co-founder & CEO, XTEN-AV. “The goal is to give AV integration firms a faster way to prepare a professional spec package, identify missing documentation early, and keep product information aligned as the design evolves.”
The update is particularly relevant for AV professionals working on commercial, education, government, and other documentation-heavy projects where product submittals are required before procurement, installation, or project approval can move forward.
The feature also supports XTEN-AV’s broader focus on connecting AV design and documentation more closely. By linking the BOM, product specification sheets, and editable project documents, XTEN-AV platform helps teams reduce repeated document handling during the design-to-delivery process.
